As a way of promoting and supporting the audiovisual production of Rio Grande do Sul cinema, especially in this difficult year for Rio Grande do Sul, Empresa Brasil de Comunicação (EBC) will award the TV Brasil Exhibition Award at the 52nd edition of the Gramado Film Festival. Furthermore, the company will be one of the sponsors of the event, which takes place from August 9th to 17th at the traditional Palácio dos Festivais.
EBC will award the best feature film from Rio Grande do Sul with R$50,000 in licensing and three short films from Rio Grande do Sul worth R$5,000 each, in the categories of best film, best direction and best script. The rules for the awards follow the Festival’s own regulations and judging criteria.
For Jean Lima, president of EBC, the awarding of the Award reinforces the company’s commitment to valuing audiovisual production in Brazil and supporting the population of Rio Grande do Sul in a challenging year. “The awarding of the Award is yet another demonstration that EBC recognizes, values and encourages national cinema and Brazilian culture. Furthermore, in this especially difficult year, in which the people of Rio Grande do Sul are suffering from the impacts of the rains, the Award is a important moment for us to support and highlight cinematographic production in Rio Grande do Sul”, he stated.
