Mônica Kanitz

Journalist with a specialization in Curatorial Practices from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. She was Culture Editor at Metro Jornal and Deputy Culture Editor at Jornal do Comércio, both based in Porto Alegre. She is the coordinator and curator of Cinemateca Paulo Amorim, an institution under the RS State Department of Culture that comprises three art house cinemas located in the Casa de Cultura Mario Quintana, in Porto Alegre. She serves as vice president of the Film Critics Association of RS (Accirs) for the 2022–2024 term and is also a member of Abraccine (Brazilian Film Critics Association), with articles published in books by both entities. She participates as a jury member in film festivals in RS and across Brazil, and is also part of film selection committees for the Procultura RS funding programs.
