The charm of the Gramado Film Festival spread across the country and went to Rio de Janeiro on the night of this Thursday, July 18th. After announcing the 45 productions that make up the Brazilian Feature Films, Documentary and Gaucho Films and the Brazilian and Gaucho Short Films, the organization announced the name that closes the hall of honors for this edition:  Vera Fischer.

The news was announced at an event held at the Vila Galé hotel, in Rio de Janeiro. The meeting brought together the president of Gramadotur, Rosa Helena Volk, curator Marcos Santuario, directors, producers, actors and journalists.

The actress from Santa Catarina is one of the most classic television and theater personalities in Brazil. She, who began her career on the big screen, returns to the cinema to receive the Cidade de Gramado Trophy. With more than half a century dedicated to acting, he has collected notable roles in cinema, theater and, mainly, on television.

She debuted as an actress in cinema, in 1972, in the feature film “Sinal Vermelho – As Fêmeas”, by Fauzi Mansur. In the following year, 1973, he acted in three productions: “A Super Fêmea”, “Anjo Loiro” and “As Delícias da Vida”. His first notable work was in 1976, in “Intimidade”, by Perry Salles and Mike Sarne. The role earned her the Best Actress trophy at the APCA Awards. A year later, Vera would have her first role in television drama, in the soap opera “Espelho Mágico”, on TV Globo. From this, he would collect great characters marked in the popular imagination. In soap operas, she would give life to Luiza, in “Brilhante”, Jocasta, in “Mandala”, Nena, in “O Rei do Gado”, Helena, in “Laços de Família”, and Yvete, in “O Clone”.

In the film “Amor Estranho Amor”, by Walter Hugo Khouri, released in 1982, she played, alongside Tarcísio Meira, Xuxa Meneghel and Mauro Mendonça, the prostitute Anna. Her performance won her the Best Actress awards at the Air France Awards and the Brasília Festival. The film was also controversial, such as the ban on the sale of the film on home video.

In Gramado, he was on the screen at the Palácio dos Festivalis with the films “Intimidade”, by Michael Sarne and Perry Salles, in 1975, “Eu Te Amo”, from 1981, directed by Arnaldo Jabor, and with “Doida Demais”, by Sérgio Rezende, released in 1989.

In addition to the screen, Vera also has a long career in theater, where she acted in major productions, such as “Macbeth”, in 1992, “Desejo”, in 1993, “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof”, in 1998, “The First Night of a Man”, in 2004, and “Relações Apparentes”, in 2015. Since 2022, he has been touring Brazil starring in the show “ Quando eu For Mãe Quero Amar Desse Jeito”, written by Eduardo Bakr and directed by Tadeu Aguiar.

The actress collects awards and nominations, such as the APCA Trophy, the Press Trophy, the Air France Cinema Award and the Candango Trophy. His career was also honored by the Sesc Award from Teatro Candango, Festival de Vitória and The Winner Awards.

Vera comments on the congratulations to her more than half a century of work in the arts: “I am immensely happy and honored to be one of those honored at the 52nd Gramado Film Festival. It is a delight to receive recognition for more than 50 years of history and work . Let’s celebrate”.

For Rosa Helena Volk, President of Gramadotur, the municipal authority responsible for the city’s events, the tribute reinforces Gramado’s commitment to honoring those who helped in the construction of Brazilian cinema. “For us it is an honor to have Vera present in this 52nd edition. His interpretations are recorded in the history of audiovisual production in Brazil. Whether in cinema or television, she is a landmark. We all have some notable role played by Vera in our memories”, he states.

Vera Fischer joins Jorge Furtado, Mariette Rissenbeek and Matheus Nachtergaele, who will be honored with the Eduardo Abelin, Kikito de Cristal and Oscarito trophies, respectively.

For reference: The Cidade de Gramado Trophy is dedicated to names linked to Gramado and the Festival, contributing to the growth and publicity of the city and the event. Awarded for the first time in 2012 to actress Eva Wilma, the youngest honor granted by the Gramado Film Festival was also given to names such as Tony Ramos, Ney Latorraca, Antonio Pitanga, Wagner Moura and Ingrid Guimarães.
